The appointment of the occupiers of Melitopol as the “temporary capital” of the Zaporizhia region is another racist nonsense. The mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov said on the air of the national telethon that the city will be deoccupied in the near future .

And if we look at the facts of the last three months, we clearly remember that at the end of February, when the full-scale invasion began, the racist forces were much larger than our Armed Forces of Ukraine. But thanks to the heroic deeds of our Armed Forces, their forces are no more than ours, ”the mayor said.

He stressed that the forecast that Ukrainian heroes-defenders make for the occupiers for the summer is hellish weather. There are facts that in the last two weeks, the front line from Zaporizhia has been pushed back 5-7 km.
“The deoccupation of Melitopol and other temporarily occupied cities will be the same. This is exactly the agenda our defenders are setting for themselves in the near future, ”the mayor said. He also added that in the event of a fake referendum, city residents will not support it.

As it became known, the occupiers have identified Melitopol as the “capital” of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia region and are preparing to hold a “referendum” on the region’s accession to Moscow.
Earlier, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said that Russian occupation forces will soon leave Melitopol.
