It is reported that the conversation with the Holy Father was devoted to such topics as the war in Ukraine, climate change and eco-sustainable architecture.
The President of the European Commission also met with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.
The talks at the State Secretariat focused on bilateral relations and joint efforts to end the war in Ukraine, focusing on the humanitarian and food implications of the conflict. In addition, the conclusions of the Conference on the Future of Europe and their implications for the future of the European Union were discussed.
