Ustyluh and Hrushiv checkpoints will allow trucks up to 7.5 tons to pass. This is stated in the message of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine .
“In order to unload some checkpoints, Ustyluh will start passing trucks on June 13 at 01:00, and Hrushiv will start passing trucks on June 15 at 08:00,” border guards said.
The project will last six months.
Context
Overcrowding at checkpoints on the western border has increased, in part due to the blockade of seaports, which has forced the reorientation of export and import flows by land. According to the State Customs Service, out of 20 road checkpoints located on the state border with EU countries, only 9 checkpoints can allow cargo to pass without weight restrictions. This delays the delivery / departure of commercial goods and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
It should be added
On June 10, almost 77,000 people and more than 19,000 vehicles crossed Ukraine’s western borders with the EU and Moldova. More than 38,000 people left Ukraine last night. Almost 24,000 of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest went to Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. Over the past 24hrs, 38,000 people came to Ukraine, 34,000 of them Ukrainians. 170 trucks with humanitarian aid have been registered.
