Ukraine is ready to exchange the detained ex-MP Viktor Medvedchuk for the British Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, who were sentenced to death by the so-called “court” in the ORDO last week, but believes that Russia is “not interested” in such an exchange. This was reported by the Daily Express , citing its sources .

For example, the British 48-year-old Pinner and 28-year-old Aslin were sentenced to death by the so-called “court” after being taken prisoner in battle, fighting on the side of Ukrainian troops in Mariupol.
Both have Ukrainian citizenship and were officially enlisted in the Ukrainian army, which refutes claims by militants of the so-called DNR that the men were mercenaries.
Sources close to the Ukrainian government confirmed to the Express on Saturday night that “nothing has been ruled out” in their release, adding: “We know we owe the United Kingdom.”
According to them, steps aimed at helping Britain and its prime minister include the possible exchange of Putin’s godfather Viktor Medvedchuk.
Sources in Ukraine confirmed that the prospects of rescuing prisoners of war were also discussed during the talks, although it was not possible to confirm whether the issue was discussed with Defense Minister Ben Wallace during his visit to Kyiv on Friday.
As both men have been given a month to appeal, many believe the show trial and subsequent sentences are a political move, the paper said.
“The issue of these people was discussed with Foreign Minister Liz Trass this week. We are cooperating, we want to show our gratitude to the UK, and we will, of course, consider exchanging for Medvedchuk,” one source said.
The head of the British Foreign Office Liz Trass said that the verdict handed down in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine to two British citizens who fought on the side of the Armed Forces is not legitimate.
