Details
The ruling party is 0.09% ahead of the New People’s Ecological and Social Union, led by left-wing leader Jean-Luc Melanchon.
Third place went to Marine Le Pen’s National Union, with 18.67% of the vote.
“Together”, “New People’s Ecological and Social Union” and “National Union” went to the second round. Other parties do not pass to the second round, as they did not get the required minimum – 12.5% of the vote.
As reported, this year’s low turnout is recorded. More than half of voters (52.48%) ignored the vote.
Observers note that due to the peculiarities of the French system of parliamentary elections, the balance of power in the second round may change significantly.
In particular, major public opinion polls said that while Marcon’s alliance has a good chance of winning the largest number of seats by a wide margin, the president could still lose control of parliament in the final round of voting.
