Sudanese officials say a ship carrying 16,000 sheep bound for Saudi Arabia sank off the Red Sea coast of Sudan on Saturday night. This was reported by Sky News Arabia .

The ship “Badr 1” was carrying 15,800 sheep, which exceeded its load, sank on Sunday morning.
One of the officials confirmed the accident and the survival of the ship’s crew, explaining that “the sinking of the ship will affect the work of the port.”
The official said the ship had a maximum tonnage of 9,000 and had been modified to increase its tonnage, noting that “this is the first time it has carried more than 15,000 on board, as it previously carried 12,000.”
