Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 14, 2022- Ukraine and Russia exchanged the bodies of service members in the Zaporizhzhya region, where the bodies of 64 fallen Azovstal defenders were returned to Ukraine.
The relevant agreement was reached as a result of negotiations with the participation of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under special circumstances.
The operation was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Reintegration, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
The process of receiving the dead bodies of Ukrainian soldiers continues, and is carried out in accordance with the rules of the Geneva Convention.
The bodies of another 58 defenders of Azovstal were also delivered to Kyiv on June 9.
