The Government of Canada on Tuesday will announce the termination of the mandate for vaccination against COVID-19 for domestic travel by plane and train, as well as for travel abroad, according to CBC News, citing unknown sources familiar with the matter.

The federal government is set to announce today the termination of the mandate for the COVID-19 vaccine for domestic travel by plane and train, as well as for travel abroad.
The government may renew the vaccine requirement if a new variant of the virus appears.
The vaccination authority for travel is valid from October 30, 2021. As the mandate expanded, travelers had a one-month grace period when they could instead provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test.
The government has come under pressure from opposition parties as well as industry organizations to ease some health measures in response to delays and long queues at airports.
Last week, the country suspended random COVID testing at all its airports until the end of June to ease the long wait that travelers face.
