Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 14, 2022- OHCHR has recorded 9,931 civilian casualties in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, including 4,432 killed and 5,499 wounded.
Among the dead, in particular, were 1,693 men, 1,138 women, 103 females, and 106 males, as well as 68 children and 1,324 adults whose gender is not yet known.
As for the wounded, there are 1,123 men, 780 women, 124 girls, 159 boys, 173 children and 3,140 adults whose gender is not yet known.
Most of the civilian casualties recorded were caused by the use of explosive weapons with wide-area effect, including heavy artillery shelling and multiple launch missile systems, and missile and air strikes.
OHCHR believes that the actual numbers are much higher, as information has been delayed from some locations where intense hostilities have taken place, and many reports are still pending.
This relates to Mariupol (Donetsk region), Izyum (Kharkiv region) and Popasna (Luhansk region), where there are allegations of numerous civilian casualties.
