NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has confirmed his invitation to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to take part in the Alliance’s Madrid Summit. This is stated in a document published on the NATO website .

“In two weeks, the Allies will meet to hold a historic Transformation Summit in Madrid, and will make decisions to support NATO’s strengths in a more dangerous world. Today we had a great discussion about preparing for it, including the need for strong support for Ukraine, both in the short and long term. I look forward to congratulating President Zelensky on addressing NATO leaders during our summit in Madrid, ”Stoltenberg said.

He recalled that in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Alliance had strengthened its defense capabilities, including increasing the combat readiness of the forces and their advanced presence.
