In particular, the company is recalling service engineers from Gazprom’s Sakhalin-2 projects and NOVATEK’s Yamal LNG projects, as well as project engineers from NOVATEK’s Arctic LNG-2 project under construction.
According to Kommersant sources, in fact, this calls into question the further operation and commissioning of foreign equipment, as well as makes it impossible to supply spare parts for its repairs. It is noted that the company is terminating the agreement despite the fact that there are no direct sanctions on the service and supply of gas turbines to Russia, only on new contracts, and Gazprom and NOVATEK are not under direct US and EU sanctions.
At the same time, Baker Hughes is suspending shipments for the latest equipment project, including gas turbines. The timing of the completion of the first line of the Arctic LNG-2 directly depends on these deliveries, the newspaper writes.
In total, seven turbines should be placed on the first line, some of which are needed for the LNG production process, some – for electricity generation. According to the publication, only half of the cars have been shipped to NOVATEK so far. There is essentially nothing to replace this equipment now: Russia has no analogues, and LNG production lines have already been designed for the LM9000 (Baker Hughes gas turbines).
Before
Gazprom has shut down another Nord Stream pump, cutting gas supplies to Europe to 67 million cubic meters a day.
