Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 17, 2022- The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has recorded 4,509 deaths and 5,585 injuries to Ukrainian civilians following a full-scale Russian invasion.
This was reported by OHCHR on June 17.
It is noted that among the dead – 1747 men, 1166 women, 124 girls and 129 boys, as well as 41 children and 1302 adults, whose gender is still unknown. In addition, 1,138 men, 792 women, 125 girls, 166 boys, as well as 172 children and 3,192 adults of unknown sex were injured.
The OHCHR notes that most deaths and injuries are caused by the use of munitions and explosives with a large area of damage, including heavy artillery shelling and multiple rocket launchers, as well as missile and air strikes.
The OHCHR believes that the actual figures are much higher, as information from some places of intense fighting is delayed and many reports are still awaiting confirmation. This applies in particular to Mariupol in the Donetsk region, Izyum in the Kharkiv region and Popasna in the Luhansk region, where there are reports of numerous civilian casualties.
