Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 17, 2022- The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has stated that he understands why President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukrainians are not ready for any compromise with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Johnson made this statement during a joint announcement with the President of Ukraine for the media in Kyiv, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We welcome the heroism of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, their courage and bravery. I absolutely understand why you, Vladimir, and your people are not ready for any compromise with Putin, because Ukraine is suffering, “said the head of the British government.
In particular, Johnson pointed out that in just a few hours drive from Kyiv, Putin’s barbaric attack led to the destruction of homes as a result of deliberate targeting of civilians.
“We are also dealing with an absolutely, incredibly disgusting ghost of the past – these are illegal deportations that take place during Putin’s aggression,” he said.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom also noted that there were all indications and evidence that Putin’s troops were under considerable pressure: “They are also suffering heavy losses and wasting their weapons enormously.”
As reported, on June 17, Johnson arrived in Kyiv for the second time since the start of a full-scale Russian invasion.
