Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 17, 2022- The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated almost UAH 243.5 million from the reserve fund of the state budget to compensate for communal expenses to communities that sheltered displaced persons in communal and state-owned buildings.

“Institutions that have provided shelter to temporarily displaced persons will be reimbursed for utilities consumed in March. Currently, there are more than 6.6 thousand such institutions, and since February 24, they have accommodated almost 1.5 million people. And this is very important – taking care of our Ukrainians . Relevant compensations will continue to be provided, “the minister said.
He added that the amount of UAH 243.5 million will offset the costs for March this year. The relevant order was adopted by the government during a regular meeting on June 17.
The draft act was developed on the basis of information summarized by the Ministry of Regional Development, received from regional military administrations, central executive bodies on funds paid by institutions on their balance sheets and in which temporarily displaced persons are accommodated free of charge.
As previously reported, in accordance with the program “Shelter” homeowners for free accommodation of migrants to reimburse the costs in April allocated 107.2 million UAH.
