A 106-meter Amadea yacht worth $ 300 million by Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov, arrested in Fiji last month at the request of US authorities, has arrived in Hawaii.

The arrest of the ship was the result of the work of the KleptoCapture task force of the US Department of Justice. The unit focused on confiscating yachts and other luxury items from Russian oligarchs in an attempt to put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The yacht is known to have left the port of Lautoka in Fiji last week after the Supreme Court of the Pacific Island State ruled that it should leave the country because the government was expensive to maintain.
The United States claims that Kerimov is the real beneficial owner of Amadea. He came under US sanctions in 2014 and 2018 in response to Russia’s actions in Syria and Ukraine. He also came under European Union sanctions.
The Amadea used to fly the Cayman Islands flag. In Hawaii, the arrested ship came under the US flag.
