He said: “First, we have existing agreements with visa centers of the Russian Federation, as we were told by Deputy Foreign Minister Mykola Tuchitsky at a government meeting.. Second, proposals will be made to the President of Ukraine to choose a country that will temporarily represent Ukraine’s interests in the Russian Federation, and after doing so And making a decision, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will inform our compatriots and citizens of the Russian Federation about the method of obtaining a visa, and provide details of its cost. ”
According to him, citizens can cross the border according to the old rules. From July 1, citizens of the Russian Federation who do not have a permanent residence permit in Ukraine or a previously open visa, such as work or other existing visas, will not be able to enter Ukraine through operating checkpoints on the Ukrainian border.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the introduction of the visa regime with Russia is a deliberate step that will protect Ukraine’s national security.
On June 17, the Council of Ministers terminated the visa waiver agreement with Russia.
Also, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he proposed to the Cabinet of Ministers to consider reviewing the system of entry of Russian citizens into Ukraine.
