According to Russian media, a total of nine people were on board: four died, one died in hospital, and the rest were hospitalized with injuries.
Information about the four dead was soon confirmed by the authorities of the Ryazan region.
The plane crashed near a private house and caught fire. The fire has already been extinguished.
During the crash, the plane damaged power lines, leaving several streets in Ryazan without electricity.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that the cause of the crash of the IL-76 was a malfunction of the engine.
