Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 25, 2022- Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgeny Kornichuk stated in an interview that the Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of suspending the visa-exemption regime for Israeli citizens in response to the same decision taken by this country at the beginning of the massive invasion of the Russian Federation of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel also expressed his regret that since the beginning of the war he has not No country in the world offers visas to Ukrainians, except for Israel.
He also said that although Ukrainians have extended their stay in Israel by a month, they have reduced the list of relatives from Ukraine who have the right to come to Israeli citizens.
According to him, a dangerous influx of Ukrainians from Israel was recorded recently, and thus, in the past month, more than 5,000 people left the country on their own.
“This is the Israeli know-how: no country in the world considered offering visas to Ukrainians after February 24, and Canada and Ireland refused to grant visas unilaterally,” Kornicchuk said.
In addition, Israel no longer considered inviting the Ukrainians for treatment, although Russian citizens were allowed in without difficulty.
Israel also introduced electronic entry permits to Ukrainians in March, and suspended the visa regime.
