Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 25, 2022- Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure, referring to Minister Oleksandr Kobrakov, has stated that Ukraine is increasing its grain exports across its western borders by 50 percent per month to tackle the global food crisis caused by the Russian blockade of Ukrainian seaports.
The Ministry of Infrastructure stated that amid the ongoing blockade of Ukrainian seaports, it is working daily to unlock overland routes for agricultural exports, particularly across Ukraine’s western borders – with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova.
As a result of the hostilities, more than 20 million tons of Ukrainian grain are still stuck in Ukrainian seaports, and part of this volume is destined for export under the United Nations World Food Programme. As a result, a number of vulnerable countries are now at risk of starvation.
