Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 27, 2022- Ukraine will focus on implementing the European Commission’s seven recommendations and additional measures in accordance with the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement after obtaining EU candidate country status, head of the Ukrainian mission to the European Union Vsevolod Chintsov said in an online press conference on Monday.
Efforts will focus on two areas: implementing the seven steps outlined by the European Commission to move to the next stage, i.e. starting negotiations, and implementing actions under the Association Agreement to bring our legislation in line with EU requirements,
According to Chintsov, the work of Ukraine carried out in the framework of the implementation of the Association Agreement will fully comply with the logic of further rapprochement with the European Union until accession.
EU Heads of State and Government also granted Ukraine the status of a candidate country for EU membership on June 23. Simultaneously with the approval of the EU’s candidate status, Brussels has also made demands for reforms that Kyiv must implement, presenting a list of seven steps.
Also, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that despite the war launched by Russia, Ukraine will continue to implement the laws, rules and regulations of the European Union, and the Council of Ministers will draw up an appropriate roadmap to meet the requirements for accession to the European Union.
