Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 29, 2022- An important note in NATO’s new strategic concept is the stipulation that Russia is no longer a partner in the alliance because it is in fact the biggest threat to the eastern side of the organization, Polish President Andrzej Duda told reporters in Madrid on Wednesday.
He noted that the great achievement of NATO is that in light of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the allies have united and are working together.
“This assistance is being provided to Ukraine, thanks to which Ukraine is now working in the light of Russia’s military capabilities,” the Polish president stressed.
He noted that Russia does not hide its threats against the Baltic states, and has repeatedly addressed Poland, and I would like this to be reflected in the decision that followed the NATO summit.
A NATO summit was reportedly held in Madrid on June 28-30, where heads of state and government are considering ways to strengthen deterrence and defense policies, and develop the alliance’s defense capabilities in the new security situation that has evolved since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
