“On June 30, 2022, it was returned with a signature from the President,” the bill card reads.
“Bill №7418 on the restoration of import taxes was signed by the President,” said Danylo Hetmantsev, a People’s Deputy and Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, in Telegram.
The People’s Deputy reminded that the law exempts electric cars from any taxes.
It is expected that the refund of customs duties and VAT on imported goods and customs clearance of cars will be from July 1.
Before
The Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the parliament a bill №7418 on May 30, which proposed to cancel some of the benefits at customs, introduced during martial law. In particular, to remove benefits for the import of cars.
According to the explanatory note, the bill proposed to restore taxation, which was abolished by law №2142:
- for goods imported by single tax payers of the first, second and third groups (according to customs statistics, the average monthly loss of budget revenues is about 3.0 billion UAH of VAT and import duties);
- for enterprises that do not pay import duty (according to customs statistics, the average monthly loss of budget revenues is about 0.5 billion UAH of import duty);
- for vehicles imported by citizens (as a result of exemption from import duties, excise taxes and VAT, the budget did not receive about UAH 13 billion; more than 119 thousand cars were imported; there are many cases of importing premium cars).
At the same time, it was proposed to amend the law “On the fee for mandatory state pension insurance” to exempt from paying the fee for mandatory state insurance of those who acquire ownership of cars equipped exclusively with electric motors (one or more).
The Verkhovna Rada voted for him on June 21.
