The Verkhovna Rada appointed Dmytro Lubinets, a People’s Deputy, to the post of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights. That voted for the corresponding decision, reported from the deputy case .

Lubinets’ candidacy was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on June 21.
The Speaker of the Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk stated that he believes that Lubinets’ experience as the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Oblasts and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol, National Minorities and International Minorities relations, as well as his professional and human qualities will create all the necessary prerequisites for the full implementation of the powers vested in the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
What was before
On May 31, the Verkhovna Rada voted to dismiss Lyudmila Denisova from the post of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
Denisova stated that she would appeal her dismissal in court.
