“They need to rent equipment that works somewhere in some remote regions of Russia, take it to Ukraine, install and configure it. The same applies to the fiber-optic cable that the Russians pulled from the Crimea to Kherson. The cable is also not very stable due to the work of Ukrainian special services and intelligence, which periodically disable it, “said Shchigol.
He added that in a few months, due to the sanctions, the Russians will also face the problem of issuing and flashing SIM-cards for Russian operators, as their supply is under sanctions.
According to Shchyhol, the resumption of communication after the deoccupation of Ukrainian territories will be quick: “When we liberate these territories, in the main cities we will restore communication within a month or two, in other places – up to six months.”
