Flight attendant unions in Spain said on Saturday that Ryanair crew members plan to strike for 12 days because the company is adding flights through the summer season and not raising wages.

The announcement was made on Thursday and forced Ryanair to cancel 10 flights in Spain on Saturday.

“Members of flight attendants will strike on July 12-15, 18-21 and 25-28 at 10 Spanish airports where Ryanair operates,” the trade unions said in a statement.
It also added that unions and Ryanair crew are demanding a “change of attitude” from the airline, calling on the company to resume negotiations on issues including the payment of the minimum wage.
Unions also called on the government “to prevent Ryanair from breaching labor laws and constitutional rights such as the right to strike”.
Airline workers across Europe are being made redundant as the sector adapts to the resumption of travel after the lifting of pandemic lockdowns, with staff shortages blamed for long delays and queues.
Spanish EasyJet flight attendants are on strike for nine days this month to raise wages. On Saturday, the airline canceled five flights from Spain.
Workers at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport went on strike on Friday and Saturday, causing the cancellation of about 10% of flights.
