“Starting next year, Ukrainians will be able to freely buy pistols. Ukrainians gave an unequivocal answer regarding the permission to freely own weapons. 70% of those surveyed supported the right to freely carry them. I emphasize that we are talking about a pistol, not a grenade launcher or a Kalashnikov assault rifle.” – wrote Andrusiv.
According to him, the ministry agrees with the decision of the Ukrainians, and changes are already being prepared for the second reading of the draft law.
“Relevant legislation will be adopted during the summer-autumn. After that, the relevant weapon registries will be launched for a certain organizational time. Perhaps additional decisions will be made so that we can maintain control over the circulation of weapons: check whose it is, how the registration process will take place, in what periods the gun owner has undergo inspections,” Andrusiv said.

The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov , reported that according to the results of a survey in the “Diya” application, 59% of Ukrainians are not opposed to being able to have a weapon for personal protection.
On February 23, the Verkhovna Rada supported the bill on the right to civilian firearms in the first reading.
