Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – July 4, 2022- Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that the recently launched process of accepting Sweden and Finland into NATO has completely invalidated the narrative that Ukraine cannot be included in the alliance due to the common border with Russia and the possibility of escalation.
He noted that after February 24, NATO should take off all those pink glasses and move on to very practical things, which are based on believing in the ability of people and countries to change.
“Have we seen a specific example of the European Union? They saw well, that’s right, why were they able, but NATO was not? I have my own version, but history will judge why this happened, in the end, there is no other alternative to the full integration of Ukraine In the West, in particular, it’s NATO, now that’s a question for them, you told us one thing, now Sweden and Finland have joined.
“It is interesting to hear how you will now justify why Ukraine cannot be taken over,” said the head of Ukraine’s diplomacy.
As reported, NATO invited Finland and Sweden to join NATO on 29 June.
On May 18, Finland and Sweden formally applied to join NATO, making this decision after Russia’s attack on Ukraine raised new concerns about security in the region.
