South Korean concern Hyundai Motor expects to significantly strengthen its position as a result of the redistribution of the automotive market. The company has already become the largest supplier of cars with hydrogen fuel cells, and it is not going to take the electric car segment without a fight. In February, the IONIQ 5 crossover will be released, which will be able to overcome up to 450 km on a single charge.
The leak of data on the technical characteristics of the novelty was due to the fault of the manufacturer, according to Electrek. In the current generation, the Ioniq model can be equipped with power plants of various types, but in the future this name will be given to a subsidiary brand, which will be sold exclusively electric cars. The compact crossover IONIQ 5 on electric traction should debut in the next quarter, its basic characteristics accidentally became public property the day before.
The vehicle with the overall dimensions of 4460 × 1890 × 1600 mm will boast a wheelbase of 3000 mm and all-wheel drive. The power plant with a capacity of 313 horsepower will allow the car to accelerate to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds. On a single charge, the electric car will be able to travel up to 450 km on a conditional cycle WLTP. It will be possible to charge the traction battery both from a single-phase household network through the device with a power up to 2,3 kW, and from the special charger with a power of 11 kW. Based on 800-volt electrical engineering, the machine will charge the charge from the DC station from 20 to 80% in fifteen minutes.
It is noted that the IONIQ 5 can be used as a mobile power source, although the capacity of the traction battery and its type are not yet specified. The formal debut of the crossover is scheduled for February next year, deliveries to customers will begin a few months later.
