At the same time, the price of August WTI oil futures rose to $100.54 per barrel, adding 1.05%.

Oil prices rose nearly 3% on Wednesday before paring gains as supply concerns resurfaced even as concerns about a global recession persisted.
OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo said on Tuesday that the industry was “under siege” due to years of underinvestment, adding that the shortfall could be reduced if additional supplies from Iran and Venezuela were allowed.
