As the meteorologists explained, the storm happened in the evening, it was the crimson rays of the setting sun that added such a shade to the usual blue color of the sky.
“The light under a high storm cloud looks blue due to scattering by water droplets. When the blue light meets the red light of the setting sun, it looks green, which is why some thunderstorms have a greenish tint,” AccuWeather meteorologist Isaac Longley told Upi.
