A veteran of the naval forces, detained on suspicion of the attempt and murder of the former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, was dissatisfied with the work of the politician .

As noted, 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami, a Navy veteran, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder with an improvised firearm.
According to the information of the law enforcement officers, to which the publication refers, then the man admitted that he wanted to kill Abe because he was dissatisfied with him.
Witnesses said Abe was about to begin his speech when Yamagami approached him from behind and fired two shots, the second of which hit the ex-prime minister.
Several of Abe’s security guards grabbed Yamagami while others performed chest compressions on the politician before he was airlifted to hospital.
Shinzo Abe, 67, stepped down as prime minister in 2020 but remained an influential figure in Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
