c Industries Oleg Urusky announced that flight tests of blades for Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters manufactured by Motor Sich JSC began at the flight test complex in Zaporozhye.
Urusky clarified that Ukraine is among the five countries in the world that produce blades for heavy helicopters. To organize production, aircraft manufacturers have purchased high-tech equipment.
The main rotor blades are designed for helicopters weighing 10-12 tons, reports the local publication “Industrial”. The head of Motor Sich Vyacheslav Boguslaev noted that 20 sets of such blades are planned to be produced in 2021, and 60 sets in 2022.
The state tests of the blades will be carried out next year.
