Burns predicted that the Kremlin would continue the war of attrition, thinking that the West would stop supporting Ukraine. But he said Putin had miscalculated his initial invasion plans by failing to capture Kyiv and would be proven wrong again.

Burns was also asked if he thinks Putin is unstable and unhealthy.
“As far as we can tell, he’s probably too healthy,” Mr Burns noted, before joking that it was “an unofficial intelligence judgement”.
