According to him, since February of this year, the State Statistics Service has stopped publishing actual statistics on the labor market.
“We are currently focusing on information from job search sites. According to job search sites, in the first week after the invasion, the number of vacancies decreased 8 times, from 64,000 vacancies, which employers posted every week, to 8,000 vacancies,” Marchenko noted.
He reported that the labor market began to recover at the beginning of June. Then the number of vacancies compared to the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation doubled, but still remained too low compared to last year.
“Now the market is growing quite dynamically. The job search site notes that the number of posted vacancies increases by 10% every week – this is very dynamic. I think that this is due to the fact that industry suffered the most from the war. Industry has large supply chains. The loss of these chains was quite painful in the first months of the war, but it’s been almost half a year now, and now businesses are establishing new chains, so I expect the recovery of industry, and the recovery of industry also entails the recovery of the labor market, so now the labor market is growing quite dynamically, it is far from last year’s indicators, but there is growth and it will continue,” Marchenko said.
In addition, he noted that there are currently the most vacancies in sales.
“Now about a third of all vacancies on job search sites are in sales. In the first top, there are 5 vacancies related to sales, these are sales managers, retail salespeople, client managers. They are still looking for accountants and managers. Among the labor specialties, the professions of cook and driver are the most popular,” Marchenko said.
