Details
UN Secretary General António Guterres, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar signed the document.
Also, representatives of Russia, Turkey and the UN separately signed an agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain.
According to BBC News Türkçe, Ukraine will start exporting with the help of pilot ships.
With the creation of a food corridor, Ukraine will be able to start exporting from the ports of Odesa, Pivdenny and Chornomorsk, which are fully under its control.
According to the agreement, there will be predetermined routes by which food will be delivered to world markets.
At the same time, the media reported that Russia would observe the ceasefire regime and would not endanger the safety of the ships.
Ukraine wants Russian ships not to enter Ukrainian territorial waters under any circumstances.
The agreement also includes cargo control by a coordination center to be established in Istanbul.
Russia wanted this monitoring mission to be carried out jointly with the participation of all parties, and Ukraine wanted it to take place under the supervision of the UN. The final situation will be known when the deal is announced.
The agreement provides for inspection of the cargo of ships heading along the food corridor at points to be created by Turkey with the participation of Russia.
Russia wants this inspection to make sure that cargo ships entering Ukraine are not carrying weapons and military cargo.
In this process, it is noted that the Turkish Navy will play a role in terms of agreements between the parties.
Let’s add
Earlier, the adviser to the head of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podolyak reported that Ukraine does not sign the agreement “on the export of Ukrainian grain” with Russia. This implies that there will be no escorting of transport by Russian ships and no presence of Russian representatives in Ukrainian ports.
