The agreement was signed during the visit to Iran of the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, whose name has not been disclosed. The representative of the Russian Federation met with the head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Iran, Mohammad Mohammadi-Bakhsh.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) is said to allow the airlines of the two countries to operate cargo flights without capacity restrictions.
In addition, Russia will receive parts and equipment for aircraft manufactured in Iran, and Iranian specialists will service Russian airliners.
The parties also agreed to increase the number of flights between the Russian Federation and Iran to 35 per week.

The White House said that Russia is asking Iran to provide it with “hundreds” of combat drones for use in the war against Ukraine.
