UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said Vladimir Putin was holding the rest of the world hostage by raising the price of gas and said allowing him to succeed would cause “unspeakable grief” across Europe.

That is exactly what he is trying to do and it is vital that we remain strong in the face of his monstrous aggression. If we allow him to succeed, it will cause untold suffering throughout Europe,” said the minister.
As Liz Truss pointed out, the Russian president will not stop only at Ukraine, moreover, the east of Europe and democracy are under threat.
The results of the final vote must be announced no later than September 5, and Boris Johnson is expected to remain acting prime minister until then.
