Today Oleksandr Klymenko was appointed to the post of head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak .

The head of the President’s Office congratulated Andriy Kostin on the start of his work as the head of the GPU, and Oleksandr Klymenko on his appointment as the head of the SAP.
On July 19, the competition commission for the election of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office determined the winner of the competition. He became NABU detective Oleksandr Klymenko.
Klymenko won the competition back in December 2021, but the results were not approved. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on July 17 to appoint the winner of the competition as the head of the SAP.

After that, international diplomats said that the commission should start a transparent process based on the integrity and merit of the candidates. Further EU and US support will depend on this.
