Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer announced on his Twitter that his country has for the first time decided to create strategic gas reserves.

“For the first time, the federal government will create its own strategic gas reserves. 20 terawatt-hours of natural gas, corresponding to approximately three months’ average consumption, will be stored until November 1,” the head of government wrote.
According to the Chancellor of Austria, the country’s gas storages are already 51% full.
