The head of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Razumkov, believes that corruption in parliament can be overcome with “a normal salary. ” He is not sure that the salary in the range of 40 thousand hryvnias is sufficient for high-level civil servants.
When asked how to eradicate wages in envelopes, Razumkov replied: “Normal wages”.
He explained that he does not consider the salary in the range of 40 thousand hryvnias per month sufficient for a high-level civil servant.
“Today my salary as the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada – I get my hands on 38-42 thousand. Is this good enough for high-level civil servants? I don’t know, I’m not sure, “Razumkov said.
At the same time, he declares that “conscience does not allow to raise salaries for parliamentarians, because in hospitals “people receive 5, 3, 6 thousand hryvnias”.
According to the budget for 2021, the Verkhovna Rada apparatus will receive 2.52 billion in funding. This is 200 million more than in 2020.
