The election of the new director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine can take place within two months from the first official meeting of the competition commission. Oleg Nemchinov, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, said this during the telethon .

According to the minister, a misunderstanding with a possible conflict of interests of one of the members of the tender commission, who represents donors, was recently resolved. At the same time, he was a member of the commission for the selection of a special anti-corruption prosecutor. However, the commission for the election of the head of the SAP has completed its work, and “now there are no restrictions.”
“All six members of the commission, both from the Ukrainian side and from the international side, can start work. Yesterday, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal appealed to the members of the tender commission to hold the first official meeting as soon as possible. They started the tender procedure. The Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers ensured the full volume of work so that they work comfortably and efficiently,” he said.

The post of NABU director has been vacant since April. This happened after Artem Sytnyk left him. He has been the director of NABU since 2015. First deputy Gizo Uhlava is temporarily acting as the head of the bureau.
On July 29, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal called on the commission to start selecting candidates for the post of NABU director as soon as possible. Before that, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for the appointment of the head of NABU.
