It is emphasized that US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier requested the postponement of the deadlines for the introduction of new requirements to the Kosovo authorities at a meeting with President Vyosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
According to the government announcement, the postponement will come into effect only if the barricades in the north of Kosovo are removed by the afternoon of August 1.

“The government of Kosovo undertakes to postpone the implementation of the two decisions until September 1, 2022, when all barricades will be removed and full freedom will be established in the north of Kosovo. We thank international partners, especially the American ambassador, for their contribution,” the statement said.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selakovich, said that the Albanian authorities of Kosovo decided to create “hell” for the Serbs by canceling the recognition of Serbian documents and car numbers when entering the territory of Kosovo.
As reported, from August 1, citizens of Serbia entering the territory of Kosovo will receive a temporary border crossing document, and Serbian documents will be considered invalid.
