“I am forced to correct the information spread by certain officials regarding the operation of the Uzhgorod International Airport: today the airport is not ready to receive or send civilian flights to the territory of the European Union,” Nikita wrote .
Details
So, according to the head of Zakarpattia OVA:
- the airport does not have the appropriate permit documents for the start of work;
- the sky over Ukraine is closed, as well as all airports;
- there are no signed documents with the EU on the possibility of launching regular flights to the territory of the European Union;
- the lighting system, the runway and other infrastructure elements are not ready to receive regular flights, etc.
“Yes, we are working on bringing the airport up to the requirements and certification. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukraeroruh, SBU, State Emergency Service, the best specialists in the field of private passenger and cargo aviation for consulting and optimization of airport operations and others are involved in the implementation of the complex of measures. But we are talking about a long-term and systematic process. Therefore, now the statements about resuming the operation of the airport are nothing more than wishes and intentions,” said Mykyta.
He called on everyone to take a balanced approach to submitting information and not to forget that the country is under martial law.
“The legal qualification of this situation will be provided by the law enforcement agencies,” added Nikita.
Before
Information appeared in the mass media that the airport in Uzhhorod will soon be able to operate.
Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, Volodymyr Chubirko , reported that the deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council significantly increased the funding of the Uzhhorod Airport.
“The statutory fund has been increased by UAH 26 million in order to carry out the necessary procedures, obtain permits, build the necessary buildings and finally start making money instead of counting losses. This is an important airport for Ukraine. The former minus is a runway that starts abroad, – became his plus. We must use it,” he wrote.
