“Today, control over food products is clearly established. Currently, more than 15 groups work together with the National Police and municipal security. More than 70 subjects of the food industry are monitored every day and, unfortunately, 10-15% of them are found to be grossly violating the current legislation on food safety. Therefore, we are currently observing a worsening of the botulism poisoning situation,” said Ruban.
He added that the last case of botulism, which was recorded, was precisely related to violations in industrial production. Currently, a criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway in this case.
