“Now it is important … to transform the positive atmosphere (after the launch of the “grain corridor” – ed.) into concrete steps to return to negotiations in Istanbul. I emphasized from the very beginning that there will be no winner in the war in Ukraine. Despite the difficulties, I also maintain my firm belief that the crisis will be resolved at the negotiating table. I once again reminded Mr. Putin that we can accept his meeting with Mr. Zelensky. We will continue,” said the Turkish leader.
Addition
Turkey continues to maintain contacts with both Ukraine and Russia, as stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
At the same time, Turkey maintains its neutrality regarding sanctions against Russia, but as the country’s Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu noted , this does not mean that Ankara will allow restrictions to be bypassed through Turkey. Ankara also promised to support only those restrictions that are introduced at the UN level.
Despite this, Ukraine continues to talk with the Turkish side about Ankara joining the restrictions introduced by the EU and the USA, in particular, regarding the limitation of cooperation with Russia.
