The Israeli operation “Breaking Dawn” continues for the second day. The Israel Defense Forces say they are ready for a “week of operations” and that there are currently no talks on a ceasefire, The Times of Israel said.
According to the IDF, more than 160 rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip since noon on Friday. The military says the Iron Dome missile defense system has a 95 percent success rate in intercepting missiles fired from Gaza.
At a briefing, military representative Ran Kochav said that about 30 rockets did not cross the border with Israel and fell within the enclave. He noted that about 60 missiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system, and the rest fell on open ground.
The day before, Israel announced that it had eliminated one of the leaders of the “Islamic Jihad”, Taysir Jabari.
