The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement on Sunday confirmed the killing of one of its senior armed commanders during an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip.

“Al-Quds Brigades mourns the death of leader Khaled Mansour, member of the Security Council and commander of the southern region (Gaza Strip), who was killed in an Israeli airstrike yesterday (Saturday – ed.),” the group said in a statement.
