Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – December 28, 2020 – Auto
From the middle of 2030, all new cars in Japan must be hybrid or fully electric. Until then, the country’s authorities will ban the sale of new cars with internal combustion engines.
Japanese automakers have already begun to criticize the government’s plans. In particular, the head of Toyota said that the hasty transition to electric cars could hit the Japanese car industry. Also, the country’s power grids will not be able to withstand traditional summer peak loads during the mass transition to electric cars.
Officials assured that the program provides for a gradual transition to electric traction: sales of hybrid cars will be allowed after 2035.
If the Japanese still abandon traditional cars, then most of the relatively new cars with internal combustion engines may be on the Ukrainian market, as now hundreds of thousands of cars from Europe and the United States.
