“In view of the above, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, D. Shmyhal, was asked to ensure, with the involvement of law enforcement agencies, that the issues raised in the electronic petition be worked out and response measures be taken. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will inform about the relevant results of the author of the electronic petition,” Volodymyr Zelenskyi informed.
In addition, the President reminded that, in accordance with the Law, state regulation in the field of the organization and conduct of gambling is carried out by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, as well as other state authorities within the limits of their powers defined by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine.
The author of the petition noted that the granting of a license to Tvoya Bettingova Kompaniya LLC to conduct bookmaking activities under the Russian brand 1xBet and the trademark 1xBet, owned by citizens of the Russian Federation, was done against the state interests of Ukraine and in favor of the aggressor country, “which, in our opinion , unacceptable during the open military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine”.
Journalists wrote about the alleged Russian owners of the gambling operator 1xBet back in June.
Licenses to work under this brand were issued by Tvoya Bettingova Kompaniya LLC, which is nominally owned by Ukrainian citizens, while the brand itself is controlled from Russia by Roman Semiokhin, Sergey Karshkov and Dmytro Kazorin.
According to journalists, the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office has already opened criminal proceedings against “Your Betting Company” LLC (brand 1xBet) for fraud and financing of actions aimed at changing the state border of Ukraine.
In addition, investigative journalists claim that the curator of the Ukrainian gambling market, a citizen of Ukraine Boris Baum, who after the scandal with the pro-Russian bookmaker left Ukraine , went abroad with a Latvian passport, helped in issuing a license to a pro-Russian bookmaker to work in Ukraine.
