“Today (August 7 – ed.) is the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and I want to now once again congratulate all military pilots and not only – but all defenders of our sky with a professional holiday. We are all proud of you and wish you so much victories, so that the Russian military is simply afraid of even the very thought of our Ukrainian sky,” he said.
In the morning, Zelensky congratulated the fighters and commanders of the Air Force, presented state awards to the soldiers.
He handed over the “Golden Star” orders to the wives of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine – Lt. Col. Eduard Vahorovsky and Major Dmytro Kolomiyets.
“They gave their lives, saving their brothers and protecting our state. Eternal memory and gratitude to the Heroes!”, the president added.
